A PILOT RANDOMIZED CONTROLLED TRIAL OF COGNITIVE BEHAVIORAL THERAPY FOR PERINATAL DEPRESSION ADAPTED FOR WOMEN WITH LOW INCOMES
Overview
This pilot randomized controlled trial evaluates a modified Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (mCBT) intervention designed for low-income pregnant women with Major Depressive Disorder. The study reports on feasibility, engagement strategies, and symptom outcomes compared to treatment as usual among 55 randomly assigned participants. Results indicate that mCBT was feasible, well-received, and associated with greater improvement in depressed mood at follow-up.
