Effectiveness of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy–Based Intervention in Preventing Gaming Disorder and Unspecified Internet Use Disorder in Adolescents
Overview
This paper reports on a multicenter cluster randomized clinical trial evaluating the PROTECT intervention, a CBT-based program designed to prevent gaming and internet use disorders in at-risk adolescents aged 12 to 18. The study compares symptom severity and incidence rates between participants receiving the four-session group intervention and an assessment-only control group across multiple follow-up points. It is intended for researchers and clinicians interested in evidence-based prevention strategies for behavioral addictions in youth.
