Effectiveness of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) on Emotional Processing, Irrational Beliefs and Rumination in Patients with Generalized Anxiety Disorder
Overview
This quasi-experimental study examines the impact of an eight-session Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) program on emotional processing, irrational beliefs, and rumination in 30 patients with Generalized Anxiety Disorder. Participants were randomly assigned to experimental or control groups, with outcomes measured using standardized scales for anxiety, emotional processing, irrational beliefs, and rumination. The authors report significant improvements in the experimental group compared to the control group and suggest training workshops for clinicians.
