Mindfulness‐based cognitive therapy for children and adolescents with anxiety disorders at‐risk for bipolar disorder: A psychoeducation waitlist controlled pilot trial
Overview
This pilot trial examines Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy for Children (MBCT-C) in 24 youth with anxiety disorders who have a parent with bipolar disorder. The study compares treatment outcomes against a psychoeducation waitlist control period, finding greater improvements in overall clinical severity during the MBCT-C phase. Results also indicate that increased mindfulness was associated with better anxiety and emotion regulation outcomes specifically within the treatment group.
