Preliminary Evidence for Changes in Functional Connectivity Associated with Emotional Awareness after Mobile-Based Mindfulness Meditation
Overview
This study examines changes in psychometric properties and brain functional connectivity among adults who completed an eight-week mobile-based mindfulness meditation intervention. Participants reported increased mindfulness and reduced emotion regulation difficulties, while resting-state fMRI data revealed specific alterations in connectivity involving the ventromedial prefrontal cortex that correlated with improved emotional awareness. The resource is intended for researchers or clinicians interested in the neural mechanisms underlying digital mindfulness interventions.
