Evaluation of a Mindfulness-Based Intervention With and Without Virtual Reality Dialectical Behavior Therapy® Mindfulness Skills Training for the Treatment of Generalized Anxiety Disorder in Primary Care: A Pilot Study
Overview
This pilot study evaluates a mindfulness-based intervention for generalized anxiety disorder in primary care, comparing a standard group format against one augmented with virtual reality dialectical behavior therapy skills training. The research includes 42 patients and measures outcomes such as anxiety, depression, emotion regulation, and treatment adherence. Results indicate significant symptom reduction in both groups, with the VR-augmented condition demonstrating higher completion rates.
