<scp>d</scp>-Cycloserine as an Augmentation Strategy With Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for Social Anxiety Disorder
Overview
This randomized controlled trial investigates whether D-cycloserine enhances the efficacy of cognitive-behavioral therapy for adults with generalized social anxiety disorder. The study compares outcomes between participants receiving 50 mg of D-cycloserine versus placebo prior to exposure sessions within a group CBT program. Results indicate that while D-cycloserine accelerated the rate of symptom improvement during treatment, it did not significantly increase final response or remission rates compared to placebo.
