Scheduled telephone support in internet-delivered cognitive behavioral therapy for depression: randomized controlled trials of two populations
Overview
This randomized controlled trial examines the impact of adding scheduled telephone support to internet-delivered cognitive behavioral therapy for depression within routine clinical practice. The study compares standard iCBT against iCBT with telephone support, finding that while both groups showed symptom improvement, the support group demonstrated higher adherence and shorter treatment duration. The authors note that the telephone support did not enhance symptom reduction in this general population, unlike in a previously studied at-risk group.
