Acceptance and commitment therapy as a school-based group intervention for adolescents: An open-label trial
Overview
This open-label trial investigates the impact of a low-dose, school-based Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) program on ninth-grade students' psychological flexibility and behavioral issues. The study compares outcomes between an ACT group receiving five hours of intervention and a wait-list control group, noting reductions in avoidance and hyperactivity/inattention among participants. It further analyzes correlations between ACT core processes and emotional problems within the subgroup of students exhibiting sub-clinical symptoms.
