Comparing the Effects of Emotion-focused Couple Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy on Marital Conflict and Emotion Regulation
Overview
This study compares the effects of Emotion-Focused Couple Therapy (EFCT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) on marital conflict and cognitive emotion regulation among 28 married women. The authors report that both interventions significantly improved outcomes, with EFCT demonstrating greater clinical effectiveness than ACT based on effect sizes for marital conflict and adaptive or non-adaptive regulation strategies.
