Mindfulness‐based stress reduction for older adults with worry symptoms and co‐occurring cognitive dysfunction
Overview
This treatment development paper examines the acceptability and effects of 8-session versus 12-session Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) groups for older adults with worry symptoms and cognitive dysfunction. The study reports preliminary findings from a small sample, noting improvements in worry severity, mindfulness, and memory recall, alongside high rates of technique continuation at six-month follow-up. It concludes that the standard 8-week format was as effective as the extended version for these outcomes.
