Positive Affect Treatment for Depression, Anxiety, and Low Positive Affect
Overview
This randomized clinical trial compares Positive Affect Treatment (PAT) and Negative Affect Treatment (NAT) in 98 adults with low positive affect and depression or anxiety. The study evaluates whether PAT engages reward systems more effectively and if changes in reward and threat processing mediate clinical outcomes. Results indicate that PAT led to greater improvements in clinical status than NAT, with self-reported measures of reward and threat mediation identified as key mechanisms.
