Examination of Broad Symptom Improvement Resulting From Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction in Breast Cancer Survivors: A Randomized Controlled Trial
Overview
This randomized controlled trial evaluates the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction for Breast Cancer (MBSR[BC]) program's impact on psychological and physical symptoms in 322 breast cancer survivors. The study compares a six-week MBSR(BC) intervention against usual care, assessing outcomes at baseline, six weeks, and twelve weeks post-intervention. Results indicate that the MBSR group experienced significant improvements in anxiety, fear of recurrence, and fatigue severity compared to the control group, with benefits persisting up to six weeks after training.
