Hope and Irrational Beliefs Among Male Prisoners: The Comparative Effectiveness of Existential Therapy (ET) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Overview
This quasi-experimental study compares Existential Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy among 36 married male prisoners in Iran. The research assesses changes in hope levels and irrational beliefs following eight therapy sessions. Results indicate that both interventions significantly improved outcomes compared to a control group, with Existential Therapy showing greater effectiveness for increasing hope.
