THE EFFECTIVENESS OF REIMAGINE AGING: AN INTERVENTION TO REDUCE INTERNALIZED AGEISM IN OLDER ADULTS
Overview
This paper evaluates Reimagine Aging, a six-week process-based intervention designed to reduce internalized ageism in older adults using education, acceptance and commitment therapy, and attributional retraining. The study analyzed data from 72 community-dwelling participants to assess changes in aging perceptions and psychological mechanisms at baseline, post-intervention, and two-month follow-up. Results indicate significant improvements in self-perceptions of aging mediated by increased psychological flexibility, mindfulness, and perceived control.
