Language-games in live mindfulness-based stress reduction: a philosophy of language analysis of participant-trainer dialogue
Overview
This paper analyzes live MBSR participant-trainer dialogue through a philosophy of language lens to understand how body awareness is verbalized during training. The study identifies challenges participants face in expressing bodily sensations and frames this learning process as acquiring a specific 'language-game.' It also examines the types of speech acts present in these interactions and discusses implications for mindfulness applications that lack live feedback.
