Study of the effects of cognitive behavioral therapy versus dialectical behavior therapy on executive function and reduction of symptoms in generalized anxiety disorder
Overview
This study compares the effects of cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy on executive function and symptom reduction in 72 patients with generalized anxiety disorder. Participants were assessed at baseline, post-treatment, and three-month follow-up using standardized measures for anxiety, depression, and executive functioning. The results indicate that while both therapies reduced anxiety and depression symptoms, dialectical behavior therapy was more effective for improving executive function.
