The efficacy and mechanism of an integrated mindfulness-based programme on posttraumatic stress disorder among people with HIV: a randomized controlled trial with 3-month follow up
Overview
This randomized controlled trial evaluates an Integrated Mindfulness-Based Programme (IMBP) combining the Community Resiliency Model and mindfulness-based stress reduction for people with HIV who have PTSD. The study assesses changes in PTSD symptoms, antiretroviral therapy adherence, and potential mediators such as mindfulness, resilience, and rumination over a three-month period. Results indicate that participants receiving IMBP showed greater reductions in PTSD symptoms and improved treatment adherence compared to the control group.
