Sine Off On It: Sinusoidal waves as models of shame and stress in social anxiety
Overview
This study compares linear, quadratic, and sinusoidal models to describe the temporal dynamics of shame and stress in 111 participants with and without social anxiety disorder. The authors report that sinusoidal models better capture these emotional fluctuations than other approaches. Additionally, specific sine wave parameters are analyzed for their association with social anxiety levels.
