Exploring attributional and coping strategies in competitive injured athletes: a qualitative approach
Overview
This qualitative study examines how competitive athletes attribute causes to their injuries and which coping strategies they employ, based on interviews with 16 participants. The resource outlines common attributional factors such as bad luck or negative mental states, alongside coping methods including cognitive restructuring and social support. It is intended for researchers and clinicians interested in the psychological processes of sport injury recovery and the development of support programs.
