Comparative evaluation of group-based mindfulness-based stress reduction and cognitive behavioural therapy for the treatment and management of chronic pain: A systematic review and network meta-analysis
Overview
This systematic review and network meta-analysis compares mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) against control conditions for managing chronic pain. The authors analyzed 21 randomized controlled trials to evaluate impacts on physical functioning, pain intensity, and depression symptoms. Results indicate that both MBSR and CBT offer advantages over control interventions, with no significant difference found between the two treatments.
