Mindfulness-based stress reduction for GPs: results of a controlled mixed methods pilot study in Dutch primary care
Overview
This pilot study evaluates the feasibility and effectiveness of Mindfulness-based stress reduction for general practitioners in the Netherlands using a mixed-methods design. The research measures changes in burnout, work engagement, empathy, and mindfulness skills among participating GPs compared to a control group. Results indicate that the intervention may reduce depersonalization and increase dedication and mindfulness skills, though further large-scale trials are recommended.
