Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy for the treatment of current depressive symptoms: a meta-analysis
Overview
This meta-analysis evaluates Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) for adults with current depressive symptoms, analyzing data from 13 randomized clinical trials involving 1046 participants. The resource reports that MBCT showed superior outcomes compared to non-specific controls at post-treatment but demonstrated no significant difference when compared to other active therapies. It also notes limited evidence regarding long-term effects and suggests that higher methodological quality in studies was associated with smaller observed effects.
