Effects of mindfulness-based cognitive therapy on mental disorders: a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomised controlled trials
Overview
This systematic review and meta-analysis evaluates the effectiveness and safety of mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) for various mental disorders by analyzing eleven randomized controlled trials. The study focuses primarily on depression, finding that MBCT significantly reduces relapse rates in patients with three or more previous episodes compared to usual treatment. It also examines outcomes for anxiety and general depression symptoms, noting that while results were significant, they showed instability in sensitivity analyses.
