The Effectiveness of Group Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Cognitive Therapy on Alexithymia and Marital Boredom, Case study: Women Affected by Marital Infidelity in Mashhad, Iran
Overview
This study compares the effects of group acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and group cognitive therapy (GCT) on alexithymia and marital boredom in women who have experienced spousal infidelity. The double-blind clinical trial involved thirty participants randomly assigned to ACT, GCT, or control groups over twelve sessions. Results indicated that ACT significantly reduced marital boredom, while GCT was more effective in reducing alexithymia.
