Dimensions of distress tolerance and the moderating effects on mindfulness-based stress reduction
Overview
This study investigates how baseline distress tolerance influences the effectiveness of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) on perceived stress levels among 372 participants. Using a quasi-experimental design with pre- and post-course self-report measures, the authors found that individuals with lower initial distress tolerance experienced greater reductions in stress after completing MBSR. The resource is intended for researchers or clinicians interested in treatment moderators and patient matching within mindfulness-based interventions.
