For Whom Does Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Work? Moderating Effects of Personality
Overview
This study investigates how personality traits influence changes in anxious and depressed mood among participants undergoing Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). The longitudinal analysis included 167 meditation-naïve individuals with psychological stress complaints, assessing mood at baseline, post-intervention, and a three-month follow-up. Results indicate that higher baseline neuroticism was associated with a smaller initial reduction in anxiety but a larger decrease at the three-month follow-up, suggesting delayed benefits for this group.
