Feasibility, efficacy, and perceptions of an online writing intervention in patients with depressive disorders: A randomized, multi-methods pilot study
Overview
This pilot study evaluates the feasibility and efficacy of an online expressive writing intervention for 53 patients with depressive disorders. The results indicate that while the intervention was feasible to administer, it did not significantly reduce depressive or anxiety symptoms compared to a control group. Qualitative feedback from participants revealed mixed experiences regarding emotional processing. The authors suggest that future iterations might benefit from added clinical guidance.
