Effects of integrative behavioral couple therapy on communication patterns and marital adjustment
Overview
This study examines the impact of Integrative Behavioral Couple Therapy (IBCT) on communication patterns and marital adjustment among 76 couples in Tehran. Participants were randomly assigned to an IBCT group or a control group, with outcomes measured using the Dyadic Adjustment Scale and Communication Patterns Questionnaire. The results indicate that IBCT significantly improved constructive communication and reduced mutual avoidance, though the effect size for demand/withdraw was small.
