The Prognostic Value of Early Treatment Factors for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) Outcomes
Overview
This retrospective study analyzes data from 1,059 patients to determine if early treatment variables improve predictions of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) outcomes compared to baseline-only models. The research focuses on clinicians and researchers by evaluating predictive performance for both post-treatment and 12-month follow-up results using statistical modeling techniques. Findings suggest that incorporating early changes, such as Week 2 ISI score reduction, significantly enhances short-term outcome prediction, while offering limited added value for long-term prognosis.
