Active components in digital health interventions for sleep among adolescents: a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials
Overview
This systematic review and meta-analysis evaluates the effectiveness of digital health interventions for adolescent sleep by analyzing 18 randomized controlled trials involving participants aged 10–24. The study finds that digital cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia significantly reduces insomnia severity and modestly improves sleep quality, while educational interventions show mixed results. It identifies active components such as cognitive restructuring and stimulus control, noting that dCBT-I appears most beneficial for this demographic.
