The effect of counseling based on acceptance and commitment therapy on anxiety, depression, and quality of life among female adolescent students
Overview
This quasi-experimental study examines the effects of acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) on anxiety, depression, and quality of life among 100 female adolescents aged 16–18 with mild to moderate anxiety. The research utilized a pre- and post-intervention design across six group counseling sessions, measuring outcomes immediately after treatment and at an eight-week follow-up. The indexed text reports statistically significant reductions in anxiety and depression scores, alongside improvements in quality of life, concluding that ACT may be a useful intervention for this demographic.
