Evaluation of a Brief Treatment Program of Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Insomnia in Older Adults
Overview
This randomized controlled trial evaluates a four-week group-administered cognitive behavior therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) program designed for older adults with sleep maintenance insomnia. The study compares outcomes between participants receiving the intervention and a waitlist control group, utilizing sleep diaries, actigraphy, and self-report measures to assess changes in sleep patterns and daytime functioning. Results indicate improvements in sleep timing, efficiency, and perceived insomnia severity among those who completed the program.
