Daily Stress and Heart Rate Variability Among Mindfulness Meditation Practitioners: mHealth Observational Study
Overview
This observational study uses mobile health data to examine the relationship between mindfulness meditation, subjective stress, and heart rate variability (HRV) in practitioners, runners, and a control group. The research reports that while meditation practitioners did not show elevated baseline HRV compared to controls, their sessions were associated with acute increases in HRV that persisted for at least 30 minutes post-practice. The resource is intended for readers interested in physiological markers of stress and the real-world application of mHealth technologies.
