The Impact of BWM‐T Versus Brief Mindfulness Induction on Stress, Anxiety and Self‐Efficacy in University Students: Immediate and Short‐Term Outcomes of RCT on Psychological Well‐Being and Autonomic Balance
Overview
This randomized controlled trial compares the immediate and short-term effects of a single 16-minute Brain Wave Modulation Technique (BWM-T) session versus a brief mindfulness induction on university students. The study measures changes in state anxiety, psychological distress, self-efficacy, and heart rate variability indices at baseline, immediately post-session, and four hours later. Results indicate that both interventions produced comparable reductions in anxiety and distress and increases in self-efficacy, with physiological differences limited to a transient change in VLF power for the BWM-T group.
