Managing stress: the influence of gender, age and emotion regulation on coping among university students in Botswana
Overview
This study examines how gender, age, and emotion regulation influence coping strategies among 128 university students in Botswana. It reports that older students tend to use more problem-solving and cognitive restructuring, while female students show higher use of wishful thinking and problem-focused disengagement. The research highlights the predictive role of emotion regulation difficulties on various engagement and disengagement coping methods.
