Facing the fear of failure: An explorative qualitative study of client experiences in a mindfulness-based stress reduction program for university students with academic evaluation anxiety
Overview
This qualitative study explores the subjective experiences of 29 university students with academic evaluation anxiety who participated in an 8-week mindfulness-based stress reduction program. Through semi-structured interviews analyzed via a hermeneutic-phenomenological approach, the research identifies five key themes: finding inner calm, sharing human struggle, maintaining focus during learning, shifting from fear to curiosity, and increasing self-acceptance. The resource is primarily intended for researchers or clinicians interested in qualitative insights into student mental health interventions.
